Yet another hippo on a bicycle.  At the moment, I’m trying to figure out the new Blogspot framework for creating an entry.  They seem to have re-arranged the entire format.  I think I like it…oh, no, wait, I really like it!  Especially the part where I get to spend more time procrastinating an 8 mile training run that I must do today!

After publishing this entry, I’m going to run 8 miles…
    Thanks for reading.

  • Basiliscus Run

BasiliskRunWhile training for the Chicago marathon, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about running and running while thinking. The basiliscus lizard (depicted in this painting) is often referred to as the “Jesus Lizard” for its ability to run biped on the surface of water. I have not yet attempted to run on water, but, I’m sure my training will take me there, eventually.

Heads up: I’ll be at the Philly First Friday again tomorrow with this painting and many others. Come out and see us!

So… I signed up for the Chicago Marathon. It will be my first marathon…
I hear from many people that training for a marathon is a difficult beast, but, I don’t think it should have to be that way. I believe it should be more about a person’s state of mind. If one thinks it to be a difficult chore, it will be difficult, if one thinks it to be fun and exciting, it will be fun and exciting.
I’m just jogging in the warm-up phases for now, but, will be following the words of wisdom from my vetted training advisors (of which I have several) when training is due to begin…
good times, and you can find the poster for this painting here.
