  • Fish on a Bicycle in a Tree

    Acrylic on Canvas – 16″ x 20″

My most recent painting now complete and almost ready to replace the ones I sold.  If this sounds like bragging, well, it might be (just a little bit), and after having a nice brag-fest, I’m always struck with the feeling that my next painting or work will turn out looking like garbage.  To counter this feeling, I’d also like to mention that the sales from those paintings might pay a fraction of my bills if I’m lucky (and refrain from using too much water).

I have just reminded myself to send the water bill, and, now that I think about it, I already sent it out yesterday.

If you’re still here and reading this, I’ll bet you might be wondering about the animation I promised…it will eventually make it to this site.  I am still working on other projects and commissions (such as paintings like this).  I am also in the process of transforming the back yard into the Garden of Eden (and I’m guessing I’ll need to begin that project with a couple of fig-leaves).

  • When Pigs Dance

    Acrylic on Canvas 8″ x 6″

Another day, another table, and here are two pigs.  Pigs are interesting.  Most anyone who visits a farm can hear its bellowing snort that might be cute if it didn’t rattle bones and echo up the valley.

They kinda remind me of the American Pit Bull in form.  This may be the beginning of a new series…

  • Hipster X-Mas Continued…

I hope everyone had a great holiday.  This is basically what I have the resources to do while I’m in Chicago and away from my manual materials.  A few new Hipster X-Mas Cards are here, and no need to mace anyone for them – they are plentiful!  Just click on the images or go straight to the Zazzle site.

It’s back to working on the painted commissions tomorrow.

Future projects are to include a couple new blockprints, more dinosaurs and possibly some blockprints of dinosaurs.
    Thanks for reading and enjoy.
  • Rabbit on a Bicycle

    Oil on Canvas – 8″ x 10″
    SOLD

My epic painting “Re-Birth of Venus” is now on public display for the next two months at a place called “Earth Bread & Brewery” alongside many more of my paintings.  Earth Bread & Brewery serves the most delicious flat-breads and beer.  I would recommend eating there if you’re in town (and not just because my work is up on their wall).  Here is the website: http://earthbreadbrewery.com/

My work is displayed alongside two other artist: Elfie and Jeremiah.  All are for sale except for this here “Rabbit on a Bicycle” (because someone saw it, loved it, and bought it while I was installing them).
  • Cthulhu On A Bicycle

CthulhuOnABikeI had recently been in touch with a long-time friend who had just made the cutest Cthulhu out of balloons.  You can find a pic of the little bugger here: BalloonBiker.

That adorable creature (though made from balloons and sitting in a bathtub) maintained a look as though it could still eat your soul.  Thus spawned my inspiration for the fellow you see here.  Though, I’m not sure I meant for it to be a “fellow”.  Its helmet suggests it could be female, or retrosexual, or metro, or whatever.  At any rate, she’ll be needing that helmet during her adventures around town.

Her image may be small here, but, you can find her in much larger form on my Redbubble, Deviant Art and Zazzle sites listed in the sidebar to your left (though her image may be watermarked for her protection).
    Thanks for reading.

  • Flounder on a Bicycle

    Flounder on a Bicycle

Sometimes I like to poke around on bicycle sites to see what the latest trend is.  I found a picture of a red bicycle that caught my attention and decided to paint a red bicycle.

The flounder is an entirely different story altogether.

  • Hippo On A Bicycle

    Hippo on a bike

Block print with water-based ink on heavy paper
    ~ 5″ x 5″

Yet another hippo on a bicycle.  At the moment, I’m trying to figure out the new Blogspot framework for creating an entry.  They seem to have re-arranged the entire format.  I think I like it…oh, no, wait, I really like it!  Especially the part where I get to spend more time procrastinating an 8 mile training run that I must do today!

After publishing this entry, I’m going to run 8 miles…
    Thanks for reading.

  • Squirrel on a Bicycle

    SquirrelOnaBike

    8″ x 10″

    Oil on Canvas
    SOLD
The common squirrel (from the family Sciuridae) has long been known to eat nuts and berries. However, when faced with extreme circumstances, the squirrel will become a predatory meat eater…
    They’re so cute!
  • Hyena On A Bicycle

hyenaOnaBikeThe spotted hyena is also known as crocuta crocuta of the hyaenidae family. Along with being one of my favorite animals, these smelly predators are more closely related to cats than they are to dogs. Because they can and will eat just about anything, people only know about them through popular myth (that they are scavengers). In reality, about 80-95% of a hyena’s diet comes from hunting. This one in particular will have no problem catching his next prey.

There are many more strange and wonderful facts about the hyena, and you can read about it: here or here
  • Camel on a Bicycle

    CamelOnaBike8″ x 10″

    Oil on Canvas (SOLD)
It looks like Joe Camel (Scientific name: camelus chainus-smokeris) is finally getting back into shape. That reminds me, though, training for the Chicago Marathon has not yet begun, one must condition themselves prior to training for a 26.2 mile jog around the block. I plan on doing much of my conditioning by scraping paint…lots and lots of paint.
