  • Fish on a Bicycle in a Tree

     

    Acrylic on Canvas – 16″ x 20″

    My most recent painting now complete and almost ready to replace the ones I sold.  If this sounds like bragging, well, it might be (just a little bit), and after having a nice brag-fest, I’m always struck with the feeling that my next painting or work will turn out looking like garbage.  To counter this feeling, I’d also like to mention that the sales from those paintings might pay a fraction of my bills if I’m lucky (and refrain from using too much water).

    I have just reminded myself to send the water bill, and, now that I think about it, I already sent it out yesterday.

    If you’re still here and reading this, I’ll bet you might be wondering about the animation I promised…it will eventually make it to this site.  I am still working on other projects and commissions (such as paintings like this).  I am also in the process of transforming the back yard into the Garden of Eden (and I’m guessing I’ll need to begin that project with a couple of fig-leaves).

    Sometimes I like to poke around on bicycle sites to see what the latest trend is.  I found a picture of a red bicycle that caught my attention and decided to paint a red bicycle.

    The flounder is an entirely different story altogether.

  • Dragon Fish On A Ghost Bicycle

    This is an Asian Arowana (Scleropages formosus). More commonly known as the “Dragon Fish”, they were recognized as an endangered species in 2006.
    A ghost bicycle, is a bike painted white and displayed as a public memorial of a loved one killed on the street while riding their bicycle.

    This is a Boarfish (capros aper). Because this fish is a deep sea dweller (40-600 meters deep), it is seldom caught by fisher-people.

    While running on Saturday I fell downhill and planted my knee into the pavement. My inner pant-layer shaved off a chunk of superficial skin while the outer pant-layer remained in tact (a good thing because those were my favorite jogging pants). I’m sore, but, stable.
    This gave me the opportunity to walk with the “walkers” of the group I was running to meet up with. We talked about all things Philadelphia and I learned that just a few years back, some woman was killed by a tree. She had been wearing headphones while jogging on the trail during a heavy downpour of whatever particular weather element was happening at the time, and a tree fell on her.Look out for those deadly trees.
